Simien Escarpment Weekend

About this hike

Two days on the edge of the Simien plateau, with gelada troops and a night under the stars.

We fly to Gondar and drive up to Debark, then walk the escarpment edge from Sankaber towards Geech.

Gelada troops feed along the cliff line in the morning and pay very little attention to walkers.

We camp one night on the plateau; the second day follows the rim to the Jinbar waterfall before the drive back.
